Getting started

  1. Choose Start the experiment on Home.
  2. Read The setting and the essential terms shown at the start.
  3. Open How to read the figure, read the experiment’s question, and change one condition with a button or slider.
  4. Switch to Read for results, formulas, and assumptions. The book icon opens the topic’s purpose and examples.
  5. Use Choose a lesson or the index to find another topic.

Find a lesson or term

The catalogue shows courses and their topics: Bayesian foundations, practice, and advanced material; probability and distributions; inference and tests; and data and information. You can also explore foundation lessons and the distribution reference. The index accepts both Japanese and English search terms.

Language and layout

Open the small information icon (ⓘ) at the top, then use Language in About this app. Choose Japanese, English, or Follow device settings.

On iPhone and iPad, text adapts to the device’s text-size setting. Use portrait, landscape, or Split View on iPad, or resize the window on Mac. Select expandable headings for controls and formulas to reveal the details.

Advertising and consent choices

The iPhone and iPad versions show a banner at the bottom. The Mac version has no ads. Lessons and calculations work even if no ad is available.

Google’s consent form appears where required. When choices can be revisited, Ad privacy choices appears in About this app under the information icon. Non-personalized ads still involve SDK data processing. Read the privacy policy for details.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an internet connection?

Lessons and calculations work offline. Ads on iPhone and iPad, external references, and websites need a connection.

Which experiment should I try first?

Choose Start the experiment on Home for an example about inspecting manufactured items. Here, positive means the inspection device suspects a defect; it does not prove that the item is defective. Read the setting and terms, then change the defect rate.

What if I do not understand a graph or formula?

Open How to read the figure and the book icon for purpose, assumptions, and terms. Use Read for the formulas. Search for the term in the index to find related foundation lessons.

I found an error or a display problem

Contact support with the lesson, language, steps, and expected and actual results. For display problems, also check for available app and OS updates.
